The Civil Wars
There were many civil wars in Ancient Rome, most of them were caused by rivals for the ruling of Rome or people in power with their own personal vendetta. For example, the civil war between Gaius Marius and Lucius Cornelius Sulla was caused by a rivalry in which both of them wanted more power than the other. Similarly, the civil war between Julius Caesar and Pompey the Great was also caused by jealousy and a craving for more power. As you scroll through the website, you will notice different tabs on three different civil wars. There are many more, but only three are focused on here. At the end, you can take a quiz to see what you've learned. Enjoy!
